Tschiertschen is the ideal starting point for many beautiful day and half-day excursions, for example the classic route across the Ochsenalp to Arosa, the mystical route via Lake Urden to the Hörnlihütte, the beautiful route over the Carmenna pass and the Weisshorn to Arosa, the surprising route over the Jochalp to Churwalden or Parpan, the diverse route over Uf Wald and Molinis to St. Peter and the short route over Runcs and Untersäss to the Prader Alp. Tschiertschen offers a mountain hiking network that is 70 kilometres long – without any asphalt trails, free of man-made landscapes for winter sports enthusiasts, free from unsightly snow cannons. Walkers will be spoilt for choice in Tschiertschen, too. A short stroll to the vantage point Büel with wonderful panoramic views across the entire Schanfigg valley. Across the Clüs, the Wässerliweg and the Geissboden to Furgglis. To the Fuchsabödali with several benches to take a rest on and a beautiful barbecue spot, back via the Messmermatta. Families will spend two interesting hours on the Füxliweg, a discovery path with various activities.
Tschiertschen is the first stop on the most beautiful mountain hiking path in Graubünden, the Schanfigger Höhenweg. Day one: from Chur via Meiersboden and Passugg to Tschiertschen. Day two: from Tschiertschen over the Ochsenalp to Arosa. Day three: from Arosa over the Alp Medergen to the Heimeli mountain lodge in Sapün valley. Day four: from Heimeli over the Strela pass and Weissfluhjoch to Strassberg. Day five: from Strassberg over the Blackter Fürggli to the Hochwanghütte mountain hut. Day six: from the Hochwanghütte mountain hut over Maladers to Chur. The good news: after each daily section, the hike can be halted or shortened and guests can return by public transport or start again there at a later stage. Easy mountain biking
Conquer the Swiss Mountains on a „flitzerli“ E-Bike: The so-called „flitzerli MONSTER eBike" - one of the newest and finest off-road cross country e-bike sensations - will turn even the least trained biker’s ride through the rough moutnainscape into a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Our guests can use the "flitzerli" for their discovery tours through the mountains for free.
Graubünden’s most beautiful tennis court is located in Tschiertschen, directly behind the Alpina hotel.Enjoy a tennis match at 1,350 meters above sea level with a view of the imposing mountains. Our guests play here from 7.00 am with a rate of CHF 15.00 / hour, rackets and balls are available too.
In only a quarter of an hour you can reach the Golf Club Domat/Ems with its 27-hole golf course on 90 hectares on the doorstep of the alpine town Chur. The course was designed by the architects Mario Verdieri and John Chilver Stainer. It stands for the ultimate, challenging golf experience. The generously proportioned training facility is deemed to be one of the best in Switzerland.
Four more well-tended 18-hole golf courses can be reached within a good half-hour drive from The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa: Golf Club Arosa, Golf Club Lenzerheide, Golf Club Alvaneu Bad and Golf Club Bad Ragaz. The highest golf course in the Alps at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level is located in Arosa. The golf course on Lenzerheide nestles beautifully in the sparse pine and spruce forest. With its impressive mountain backdrop, the Alvaneu Bad golf course in the Albula valley is considered to be the best well-kept secret among connoisseurs. It was even presented with the first Swiss Golf Award. Finally, the PGA Championship Course in Bad Ragaz offers everything that makes a golf enthusiast’s heart beat faster in a luxurious atmosphere.

For almost 60 years now the Maienfelder Rossriet racecourse is transformed into a super-league racing track every October, staging exciting races of the most diverse nature. Flat, trotting and cross races as well as steeplechases are held. The racecourse in Maienfeld is well known for cross races as the Rossriet is one of the most beautiful natural racing tracks in Switzerland. But what would a race be without bets? It does not matter if you are a horse expert, betting professional or mere enthusiast. If “your” horse is competing to win, you will not be able to stay in your seat. You will just have to cheer on your protégé. Besides the popular races on two autumn Sundays, the organisers also stage a fair against a beautiful backdrop.
